The Enormous Gap

Figures compiled by the Guardian show that over the past decade, 83% of Lisson Gallery’s solo shows, 71% of Hauser and Wirth solo shows, 88% of Gagosian’s shows, and 76% of White Cube’s shows were by male artists. My aim is to render this gender parity visible by manipulating artist lists to remove all the male identifying artists from their roster and accurately depict the inequality that persists in the art world today.
